Would anyone know of any easily accessible spots west-southwest of DC with low light pollution? I’ve got an itch to watch the Persieds, but the few places I’d think to go are locked after dark. Sky Meadows, Big Meadows, et cetera… you have to get there before nightfall, then you can’t leave until morning.

I know of no parks that are open after dark (except for campsites like Sky Meadows). However, although the WO&D trail technically closes at dark, there is no one to stop you from getting on it in Leesburg and walking out a little ways into the dark
