International Action Center mobilized near the future site of the controversial Park51 Islamic community center in 2010, in a counter demonstration against anti-mosque protesters. Speakers railed against a wave of anti-Muslim and islamophobic activity in the United States, citing connections between anti-mosque rhetoric and attacks on Muslims and mosques across the United States.
Anti-Mosque protesters featured supporters of the violent, racist soccer hooligan gang calling itself “The English Defense League,” Dutch neo-Fascist politician Geert Wilders and the increasingly incoherent Pam Gellar.
